Blacknight Flexi Broadband package offers 30-day rolling ‘pay as you go’ contract

Over 1,800 Dingle homes, farms and businesses are ready to connect to NBI fibre

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) and broadband provider, Blacknight, are inviting Dingle residents to sign up for high speed fibre broadband on the NBI network, which now includes a flexi broadband option, allowing customers to sign up for a 30-day rolling contract so that holiday homes and seasonal businesses have the option to only pay for the broadband they need.

Teams from NBI and Blacknight were in town on Thursday, 15th June and Friday, 16th June to meet the public at the Dingle Tourist Office to share the benefits of high speed broadband and the flexible offer, and assist those who wished to sign up for the service.

Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said: “NBI is delighted to be rolling out high speed fibre in County Kerry so that more and more people will have access to minimum broadband speeds of 500 megabits per second with all the benefits that brings for homes and businesses. Over 1,800 premises in Dingle are ready to connect now and over 11,000 premises across the county can do so. Overall NBI is making an investment of €107 million in Kerry and will ultimately serve 28,000 premises.

“We are delighted our retail partner, Blacknight, is offering an innovative flexi broadband package which should particularly suit those with holiday homes and seasonal businesses, and many others, including those where a more flexible option could help with cost-of-living pressures. We hope people in Dingle will see the benefit and encourage them to engage with our teams or visit nbi.ie to check their Eircode and sign up for updates.”

Roger Brennan, Sales Manager, Blacknight, said:

“Blacknight is committed to providing our customers with the best possible service and we are delighted to be able to connect them to the super fast NBI network. Our aim is to go out of our way to meet the range of needs of homes and businesses with a bespoke approach to service delivery, which has been enabled by NBI’s introduction of this contract proposition.

“Our Flexi Broadband package allows customers to sign up for a 30-day rolling contract instead of being tied into a longer term contract with always-on broadband, even when it’s not needed. Not only is this service ideal for holiday homes, it’s also a great solution for seasonal businesses that are only open in the summer months or student accommodation with temporary residents. The service sees the end user pay for the installation and router up front and then allows the customer to easily switch on and off the service as their needs dictate. Alongside this, we are offering a €50 Mastercard gift card for the first 50 customers who sign up with Blacknight at the NBI stand in Dingle on the 15th and 16th of June.”
