National Broadband Ireland (NBI) are delighted to have won ‘Champion Employee Wellbeing Strategy’ at the recent Irish HR Champions Awards.
The Irish HR Champion Awards celebrate the hard work and dedication of those delivering ambitious programmes, impacting business performance and transforming employee engagement and experience.
NBI were rewarded for their work with the Ibec KeepWell Mark which benchmarked performance against eight standards in workplace wellbeing. These areas included leadership, absence management, physical activity, smoke free, health & safety, mental health, intoxicants, as well as healthy eating.
The judges also recognised NBI’s ongoing efforts in a wider colleague engagement programme, called ‘Connected’ including employee wellbeing initiatives which demonstrated true commitment to employee wellness in the workplace.
Commenting on the award success, Daragh O’Mahony, NBI’s Chief People Officer said: “At NBI, our people are our greatest asset. Our team brings together some of the most talented individuals from Ireland and abroad, each with the deep knowledge and experience in order to deliver the National Broadband Plan; one of the most ambitious fibre projects in Europe. We could not be prouder to have been successful in this category as it underlines the commitment of our team and all of our colleagues who were involved in our wellbeing initiatives.”
Also speaking about the award success, Corina Zambra, NBI’s Senior HR Manager, commented, “Building on last year’s success in the Employee Engagement category, NBI is thrilled to be recognised again this year; this time in the Employee Wellbeing Strategy. Our people are at the heart of our business strategy, so it makes sense that we put a keen emphasis on delivering impactful and educational activities throughout the year to encourage colleague wellness.”
This year the Irish HR Champion Awards were held in The Marker Hotel, Dublin on 19th April.
